riala's past Iriala started to tell the story. all was hush.
her voice echoed through the library.
"way back in my day lonn wasn't always
the way it is. it used to be home to thousands of
sylphs. they called themselves the sylphaen empire.
to the north were the peasants. to the south were the
rich, or the inventors. in the middle of lonn was the royal
city of birch. i lived in birch. at the palace. i was one
of the royal family. i honestly did not like it. i just wanted
to be like normal kids and go to normal schools and live in
a normal house. i was treated like a princess always.
because i was one. but one summer my aunt decided to
grant me my wish and sent me off to the north to live on
a farm for a year. she thought it would teach me to be careful
what i wished for and i'd come running back. my aunt gave
me a journal to record my stay there. i was so exited i packed
quickly. making sure to hide my silver hairpin so i didn't have to
wear it and let it give me away. in those days lesser royalty
riala's past introriala paced through the library halls deep in thought.
just then a spell sprite zoomed by and knocked her
into a bookshelf sending several books in the air and one fell over
riala's face. the spell sprite tumbled and fell in a large green vase
a few rows down the hall. "who goes there?!"
riala shouted out as she pulled the book off her face.
she stood up then looked at the book at the page that
it opened to when it fell on her. this book was a jornal
she had written when she was sent by her parents
off to the north to live in the country to live for a year.
all the memories slowly came back to her with every
turn of a page. then a green vase came rolling down
the hall and stopped when it bumped into riala's thick leater boot.
the sprite crawled out and shyly looked up to
it's master in fear. it's thin whispy body floated just
barely off the ground while the pendand swinging from it's
